CANAL MIGUEL CHECA. En
1982 el Ingº peruano don Manuel A. Viñas realizó estudios para
irrigar los terrenos de la margen derecha entre Poechos y Amotape, con
la construcción de un canal que debería correr paralelo al Chira en
sentido sudoeste. Don
Miguel Checa Checa comprendió la importancia de esta obra, iniciando su
ejecución el 1º de Noviembre de 1900. En 1905 se traspasó el canal a
la Peruvian Corporation Ltd. Empresa que concluyó la obra y lo
administró hasta 1925 cuando las intensas lluvias de ese año prácticamente
destruyeron el canal. El presidente Leguía, a solicitud de los
agricultores sullanenses, accedió a la rehabilitación del canal
enviando al Ingº Carlos Sutton, terminado la obra el Ingº Isaac
Acevedo. El canal tenía su bocatoma en el punto denominado Pardo de Zela a 35 kms. al norte de Sullana, con una longitud de casi 56 kms. con un ancho de 22 metros. Con las lluvias de 1983, el canal quedó muy afectado. Este
canal beneficia tierras agrícolas situadas en Chocán, San Francisco,
La Peña, Mambré, Pampas de Querecotillo y Salitral, Garabato, Samán y
Mallares. En la actualidad este canal ha sido incorporado al Proyecto
Especial Chira - Piura.

THE CHANNEL MIGUEL CHECA. In 1982 the Ingº Peruvian gift Manuel A. DER KANAL MIGUEL CHECA. In 1982 der Ingº peruanisches Geschenk, das Manuel A. Viñas aus Studien trug, die Länder des richtigen Flußufers zwischen Poechos und Amotape zu bewässern, mit der Konstruktion von einem Kanal, der zum Chira in Südwesten-Sinn parallel laufen sollte. Don Miguel Checa Checa er verstand die Wichtigkeit dieser Arbeit und fing seine Ausführung November 1º 1900 an. Am Kanal wurde über der peruanischen Firma in 1905 vorbeigekommen GmbH Gesellschaft, die die Arbeit schloß und es bis zu 1925 verwaltete, als die intensiven Regen dieses Jahres praktisch den Kanal zerstörten. Der Präsident Leguía, zu Anwendung des Landwirtschaft-sullanenses, stimmte zur Rehabilitation vom Kanal, der zum Ingº Carlos Sutton schickt, zu, beendete die Arbeit der Ingº Isaac Acevedo. Der Kanal hatte seinen Anfang im bezeichneten Punkt von Pardo de Zela zu 35 kms. zu das nördlich von Sullana, mit einer Länge von fast 56 kms. mit einer Weite 22 Meter. Mit den Regen von 1983 war der Kanal sehr affektiert. Dieser Kanal nützt landwirtschaftlichen Ländern, die in Chocán, San Francisco, La Peña, Mambré, Pampas von Querecotillo und Salitral, Garabato, Samán und Mallares, gefunden werden.
